Orthopaedic Surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

General Surgery covers any other surgeries that do not fall into the above categories and are mainly performed on any organs within the body eg., cardiovascular or gynaecology.
